When is a Yagi aerial installation required?
Installing a Yagi aerial is necessary in several common situations:
- New build or renovation with no existing aerial
- Replacement of an old aerial that is worn out or not suited to HD DTT
- Switching to DTT following the end of analogue television
- Alternative to internet television for more stable reception
The steps of our intervention
Preliminary survey
Before any installation, our local antenna installer, a specialised and experienced aerial technician, carries out an on-site reception survey, with a thorough knowledge of the transmitters and terrain across the French Riviera:
- Identification of the closest and most powerful DTT transmitter
- Signal measurement with a professional field strength meter
- Selection of the appropriate aerial type (directional, omnidirectional, amplified)
- Determination of the optimal location (rooftop, gable, façade, mast)
Aerial mounting
The installation is carried out to the highest professional standards:
- Secure fixing on a guyed mast or wall bracket
- Precise alignment towards the DTT transmitter
- Earthing of the aerial in accordance with NFC 15-100
- Installation of a surge arrester where required
Internal cabling
We carry out all cabling from the aerial to your televisions:
- Professional-grade coaxial cable drop
- Installation of splitters or amplifiers depending on the number of outlets
- Fitting of flush-mounted wall TV sockets
- Reception test at each outlet
Types of aerials we install
- Yagi aerial: the most common, ideal for areas with average to good reception
- Amplified aerial: for difficult reception areas or locations far from the transmitter
- Omnidirectional aerial: for areas covered by several transmitters
- Indoor aerial: as a last resort, for areas with strong coverage
Advice after installation
- Periodically check the aerial fixings, particularly after storms
- Do not adjust the aerial alignment without a field strength meter
- If roof work is carried out, protect the coaxial cable and mast
- Run a channel scan on your television after any significant weather event
