House consumer unit: installation and replacement
The consumer unit of a house must be sized to supply all circuits safely. Whether for a new build or a replacement, Elecprium offers an installation that is compliant and adapted to your needs.
The specifics of a house consumer unit
A detached house generally requires a larger unit than a flat, with dedicated circuits for:
- Electric heating or a heat pump
- The kitchen (oven, hob, dishwasher)
- Socket and lighting circuits per room
- External equipment (garden, pool, gate)
- The VMC and water heater
- Roller shutters and home automation
When should you replace your consumer unit?
- Your unit still uses cartridge fuses
- The unit is outdated or lacks RCD protection
- You are carrying out an extension or renovation
- You are adding high-consumption equipment (EV charger, air conditioning)
- An electrical survey has revealed non-conformities
