Receiving Arabic channels in the PACA region
The PACA region has a large Arabic-speaking community that wants to stay connected to programmes from their home countries. Arabic channels are broadcast on several satellites and require an appropriate installation to be received correctly in France.
Satellites for Arabic channels
Nilesat 7W
Nilesat is the most popular satellite for Arabic channels, particularly Egyptian, Lebanese and North African content:
- MBC, MBC 2, MBC 3, MBC Action: the MBC group
- Al Jazeera, Al Arabiya: news channels
- Rotana Cinema, Rotana Music: entertainment
- CBC, ON TV, DMC: Egyptian channels
- Nessma TV, Hannibal TV: Tunisian channels
Arabsat / Badr 26E
The Arabsat (Badr) satellite broadcasts channels from the Gulf states and the Middle East:
- Saudi TV, KSA Sports: Saudi channels
- Kuwait TV, Bahrain TV: Gulf channels
- Numerous religious and cultural channels
Hotbird 13E
Hotbird also broadcasts some popular Arabic channels, allowing them to be combined with European channels.

Needs assessment
We work with you to determine which channels you want to receive in order to define the ideal configuration:
- Single satellite: simple installation with a fixed dish
- Two satellites: installation with a monoblock LNB or DiSEqC switch
- Three or more satellites: installation of a motorised dish
Appropriate installation
Receiving Nilesat 7W from the PACA region requires a good-sized dish due to the satellite's footprint:
- 100 cm to 120 cm dish recommended for Nilesat from the south of France
- 80 cm dish sufficient for Arabsat / Badr and Hotbird
- Reinforced mount for large dishes, resistant to wind
Motorised dish: the all-in-one solution
To access all Arabic and European satellites, a motorised dish is the most versatile solution. A DiSEqC 1.2 or USALS motor automatically points the dish towards the desired satellite.

Tips for optimal reception
- For Nilesat, do not compromise on dish size: 100 cm minimum from PACA
- Ensure your receiver supports the encoding used by Arabic channels
- With a motorised dish, an annual recalibration may be necessary
- Protect the LNB from rain with a suitable cover
