Receiving Italian channels from the Alpes-Maritimes
The proximity of the Alpes-Maritimes to Italy makes it an area with particularly strong demand for Italian channels. Many residents of Italian origin or Italian speakers want access to RAI, Mediaset and other Italian broadcasts. A satellite dish pointed at Hotbird 13E is the most reliable solution.

Free-to-air (FTA) channels
The Hotbird 13E satellite broadcasts numerous Italian channels in the clear:
- RAI 1, RAI 2, RAI 3: Italy's public broadcast channels
- Rete 4, Canale 5, Italia 1: the Mediaset group channels
- LA7, TV8, Nove: private general interest channels
- Rai News 24, Sky TG24: rolling news channels
- Rai Sport, Rai Movie, Rai Premium: thematic channels
Pay channels
To access Italian pay bouquets (Sky Italia), an Italian subscription card is required. We can guide you through the process if needed.
RAI and Mediaset in HD: the Tivùsat card
To receive RAI and Mediaset in high definition on Hotbird, you need a receiver (or CAM module) compatible with Tivùsat, with its official card supplied free inside the box. Tivùsat is Italy's free satellite platform (no subscription) that carries most RAI and Mediaset channels in HD: these channels are encrypted for broadcasting rights reasons, even though access remains free once the card is activated. We install and repair Tivùsat receivers and CAM modules, and diagnose issues such as an unrecognised card or loss of HD signal.

Dual-satellite installation
If you wish to receive both French channels (Astra 19.2E) and Italian channels (Hotbird 13E), we offer two solutions:
- Monoblock LNB: a single support with two reception heads, aligned to pick up both satellites simultaneously. An economical and discreet solution.
- Two separate dishes: each pointed at a satellite, for an optimal signal on both bouquets.
Cabling and configuration

- Installation of a DiSEqC switch if two satellites are used

Practical advice
- Opt for a dish of 80 cm or more for stable reception, even in bad weather
- Ensure your television or receiver is compatible with the encoding used (DVB-S2)
- For dual satellite, a DiSEqC-compatible receiver is essential
- Consider a motorised dish if you wish to access other satellites in the future
